چکیده
This study tested the hypothesis that exposure to chlorine-sterilised pool water would impair oral nitrate reduction (ONR). ONR was assessed in elite swimmers before and after morning afternoon pool-based training. Nonswimmers were only morning. similar nonswimmers (P = 1.000) unchanged training ≥ 0.341). Therefore, chlorinated does not interfere with ONR. Novelty Exposure swimmers.

Disinfection byproducts in swimming pool water in Sanandj, Iran
The present study aimed to determine the concentrations of several disinfection byproducts (DBPs), including trihalomethanes (THMs), haloacetic acids (HAAs), and haloacetonitriles (HANs), in the public and private swimming pools in Sanandaj, Iran (n=16). Correlations between DBP levels with water quality parameters (free chlorine, pH, total organic carbon, temperature, number of swimme...

This study is aimed to evaluate the effect of 4 weeks swimming training with chest wall restriction on aerobic power, cardio-respiratory functions and swimming performance of elite female swimmers. 24 elite female swimmers volunteered to participate in this study and were randomly divide into two groups: Control (swimming training without chest wall restriction) and experimental group (swi...
متن کاملEffects of medium-pressure UV lamps radiation on water quality in a chlorinated indoor swimming pool.
The aim of our study was to determine the impact of medium-pressure UV lamps radiation on water quality in a chlorinated indoor swimming pool. An indoor swimming pool was equipped with two medium-pressure UV lamps. We collected eight samples of water daily over a four-weeks period and measured total and free chlorine, pH, water temperature, bacteriological parameters, total organic carbon and t...
متن کامل"Coughing water": bronchial hyperreactivity induced by swimming in a chlorinated pool.
Although pulmonary toxicity resulting from the inhalation of chlorine gas is well known in industrial accidents and warfare (Beach et al. 1969; Hamilton and Hardy, 1974) it may not be appreciated that adverse effects may result from bathing in chlorine-sterilised pools. We describe the sudden onset of reversible airways obstruction in three young swimmers. They were in a party of 24 children wh...
